What is Abaca?
Abaca is a tree native to the Philippines that produces a fiber valued for its exceptional strength, flexibility, and durability. It is the material of choice for marine ropes, cables, fishing lines, hoisting and power-transmission ropes, well-drilling cables, and fishing nets, but is also delicate enough to be fashioned into household items such as trivets.
